Call Submission Guidelines

EU-OPENSCREEN facilitates staff exchanges between consortium partners to enable direct transfer of knowledge and support community building within the consortium.  

Complementary to the scientific staff exchanges offered through EU-OPENSCREEN, the IMPULSE Staff Exchange & Job Shadow Internal Call 2024 is open for the following two types of staff exchanges: 

1. Managerial Skills Transfer

For staff at IMPULSE partners interested in expanding their project management capabilities.   

Possible foci include:  

• General project management strategies 
• User access management strategies  

Travelling partners may arrange a visit to any IMPULSE partner with the capacity to host Managerial Skills Transfer exchanges. The following IMPULSE partners have pre-indicated capacity for such exchanges: 

• EU-OS 
• KI 

2. Early-Career Development

For PhD students or post-docs less than 10 years out from their PhD. Must be enrolled/employed at an IMPULSE partner.   

Possible foci include: 

• AI/ML tools 
• Advanced disease models 
• New chemical modalities  
• Data/compound management  

All exchanges under both categories may last between one and four weeks and must be hosted by an IMPULSE partner. 

Eligibility 

The following elements are required for an application to be considered: 

• Motivation letter of the applicant for the exchange describing the purpose of the training 
• Statement justifying the selection of the partner for the exchange, including a demonstration of their track record/experience in the field of interest 
• Letter of intent of the receiving partner  
• Description of the planned timing and duration of the exchange 
• Statement on the added value of the exchange for EU-OPENSCREEN/sustainability 
• CV of the applicant 
• Detailed cost estimation (note: only travel costs are covered) 
• Commitment to submitting an end-of-exchange report 

Funding 

IMPULSE will cover up to €1,600 in travel/accommodation fees for each awarded exchange. All other costs (consumables, staff effort, etc.) must be covered by the applicant and/or hosting partner.   

The costs will be reimbursed after the staff exchange has been completed via the following reimbursement form: IMPULSE WP7_Travel_Reimbursement_Form_External_Users 

Evaluation 

Applications will be evaluated on the following criteria: 

• Excellence/relevance of the staff exchange and the applicant (40%) 
• Proven track record/experience in the field of the receiving partner (30%) 
• Added value for EU-OPENSCREEN/sustainability (10%) 
• Plausible cost calculation and timelines (20%) 
• Availability of a letter of intent of the receiving partner
