The Centre for Protein Engineering (CIP) at the Université de Liège is offering a position for a research associate in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology. He or she will be the manager of the Robotein® facility (Liège site), which is dedicated to high-throughput protein production and analysis. This platform, which has recently been added to the Instruct-ERIC catalogue, offers automated screening for optimal recombinant protein expression, purification and formulation, together with biochemical and biophysical protein analysis. The position is initially for one year and is based in the Department of Life Sciences and the InBioS research unit, in the Faculty of Sciences. It offers opportunities for scientific collaboration at the national and international level, both with academic and industrial partners, and enables an ambitious candidate to play an important role in the shaping of the future development of the facility as a flagship of the Institution.

 

A good knowledge and technical expertise in the fields of protein production and analysis, with particular emphasis on protein-ligand interactions, are expected. The candidate will play an important role in the development of existing or new protocols for the characterization of proteins. Furthermore, the applicant will also be expected to demonstrate managerial skills, including meetings with collaborators or clients, hosting of Instruct-ERIC visitors, administrative duties, maintenance and accounting work, and organisational management. Applicants need to be confident in developing new technological tools for the advancement of Robotein®, in particular within the frame of its new partnership with Instruct-ERIC, which aims at facilitating important scientific breakthroughs.
