The Sir William Dunn School of Pathology are seeking to appoint a Research Assistant interested in learning and applying microbiology and electron microscopy techniques to fulfil a key supporting role within the group. The postholder will report to the Principal Investigator, Dr Tanmay Bharat, and will be a member of a dynamic, collaborative and interdisciplinary research group. There will be an opportunity to carry out exciting, cutting-edge projects, depending on the interests of the selected candidate.

You should be an enthusiastic and self-motivated scientist with the ability to work to the highest scientific and ethical standard. The work will involve contributing to several projects with ample possibility of co-authorship on publications in high impact scientific journals.

The successful candidate should have BSc or MSc in biological sciences or any related scientific discipline. Previous laboratory experience, good organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Training will be available in all aspects of the role.
