Research infrastructures are facilities, resources and services used by the research community to conduct research and promote innovation. They facilitate scientific research within national settings, across borders and in global collaborations. They are of outmost importance for the pursuit of scientific knowledge in a world where research and science becomes more sophisticated and complex and collaboration is key. The role of research infrastructures is evolving and are becoming more and more part of a connected ecosystem forming a unique resource for advanced research and interdisciplinary analysis of complex scientific problems.

The future of scientific research will call for a deeper and more widespread multidisciplinary collaboration. This will emphasize the need of research seeking to optimize the precondition of securing sustainable scientific collaboration.

The agenda includes talks on:

  • The current role of research infrastructures - 'Research infrastructures: Why do we need them?'
  • The future of research infrastructures - 'Covid – what can infrastructures do going forward'
  • The importance of infrastructures on the way to personalised health - 'Infrastructures Role in developing Personalized Health'
