FEBS Combined Practical and Lecture Course Chemistry of Metals in Biological Systems

Training
Date: 21-May-2017 to 28-May-2017

Contact: Ricardo Louro

Metal ions play key roles in biochemistry. Approximately half of all enzymes require metal ions for their activity. Metal homeostasis is essential for health and metal containing compounds can provide enhanced theranostic tools. Metals can also act as dangerous pollutants generated by biological activity through leaching of geological formations or from anthropogenic action.Competence in this broad range of disciplines is provided by an advanced course that offers an integrated multi-disciplinary training that combines advanced theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical experiments.
